We want to make you welcome in our home.
The Greyhound is a family owned and run freehouse
extending a genuinely warm welcome to business and leisure travellers
from all round the globe. We even have global feel when it comes
to staffing and you will find a range of accents but all sharing
in our aim to make people feel at home.
There would be no point in making people welcome if we could not provide good food and we have built a world wide reputation for looking after people in this regard as can be seen from our visitor books. If you have any special requirements please let us know in advance. You can check out our current menu on the restaurant/food page.

We are happy to make our Dining Room available for Meetings from 7 a.m. (or earlier if required) the room can accommodate about 24 people depending on layout and equipment required. There are ample sockets for electrical equipment and a variety of seating arrangements. Tea/Coffee can be supplied and food to your requirements. We are here to provide a service that will support the type of meeting you want, informal, breakfast, lecture or more formal business. Rates vary according to your needs and numbers; contact Roy Pearce to discuss your requirements
We are happy to help with arrangements for smaller weddings, anniversaries, celebrations and funerals.
In our experience the requirements of each function are so different we cannot produce a price list to cover everything and I would ask you to contact me by phone or email to discuss your individual needs.

We have 3 en-suite rooms at the moment and
they all have the flexibility to be made available as double
or twin bedded rooms. For single occupancy we provide a double
bed, and 1 of the rooms can be used as a family room. All the
rooms are en-suite with shower and have independent access from
the car park which is covered by CCTV. Facilities include TV,
Tea / Coffee, Trouser press / Iron, Full length mirror, double
glazing, and independent heating. We are proud of our 3 star
( Inn ) rating with the AA and work continuously to improve;
we are featured in several of the AA guides.
We have a great location which suits so
many purposes, Luton airport is only a short drive away. Access
to London is easy and fast using the rail service from Stevenage
(5m) or Hitchin (2m) into Kings Cross; or Luton (8m) into St Pancras.
The good road network allows easy journeys to most of the major
towns in Hertfordshire such as St. Albans, Baldock, Stevenage,
Letchworth and Welwyn Garden City as well as across the county
border to Luton, Biggleswade and Bedford . The train service from
Hitchin also allows easy access for both Cambridge and Peterborough
to the north. In and around all of these places there is a wealth
of history, historical sites and beautiful countryside which surprises
many visitors when they find they are only 30 miles from the centre
of London.
